10 yr. Special Team: 6/30/03 Media 14, NPAA 9 On Monday night, the Media 10 S team traveled to NPAA's "Field of Dreams" for its second game in 3 days with NPAA's 10-year-old All Stars. Media recorded its second straight win, 14-9. Media's combination of team speed, solid defense and timely hitting served them well. Media exploded in the top of the first for 7 runs. Jim Reese, Sean Hobson and Scot Patton, all just back from vacation made their presence felt. All contributed hits in the opening frame, with Scott Patton ripping a bases-loaded double to score three runs. Ian Campbell pitched the first 3 innings, facing only 10 batters while striking out 4 and left with an 11-0 lead. Ian also reached base safely all 4 times with 3 hits and a walk. Jack Prior made a great catch on a line drive to second base and threw to first to record the team's first double play of the postseason. Other notable contributions for Media included: Keith Grauer laid down a prefect bunt down the third base line. With Keith's speed, there was no play a first; Mitch Engleka continued to make good contact and had 2 hits; Connor Gallen pitched the fourth and Jim Reese pitched the 5th and 6th innings. Jim Reese squelched NPAA's rally, striking out the last batter with two runners on base. Justin Brown continued his hot hitting with two hits including a blast over the leftfielder's head that drove in two runs. Tom Weathers continued his strong hitting and good fielding at first base. Next up for Media 10S is a home game with LLanerch Hills on 7/1.
