Majors: 5/6/03 Carman 16, Hagans 2 Carman was hosted by short-handed Hagans, who called-up Ronny Tassoni from A-League Meenan Oil to be able to field nine. Carman batted first, and had a tough time figuring out the strike zone, except for singles by McGough and Clifton, which combined with several passed balls and an error, afforded Carman a 2-0 lead. Clifton pitched for Carman, and retired the top three in Hagan's lineup, as Atkinson and McCarthy put the ball in play, but were put out. Boyer started the top of the 2nd with a triple, scoring on Kotkamp's 5-3 grounder. In Hagan's second at bat, McCusker hit a shot to second, which was fielded for the putout at first, and Matt Robinson drew a heady walk, but was stranded. The 2nd inning ended with the score a respectable 3-0. In the 3rd, Carman's sleeping bats awoke, as McGough walked, Still tripled, Matt Snow was HBP, Clifton doubled, Andrew Snow hit into a run-scoring 4-3, then Boyer singled, Kotkamp walked, Gillen singled, McGough singled, Still hit into a fielder's choice, but was rescued by error, Matt Snow singled, Clifton reached by error, and Andrew Snow singled before getting putout at second on a nice throw from center. When it was over, Carman had erupted for 11 runs, to make the score 14-0. Dillon Hobson pitched the 3rd for Carman, starting with a walk to Joe Infantino, who eventually came around to score, as Atkinson and McCusker both also walked, and McCarthy put the ball in play, as Hagan finally got on the board. Carman got 2 more in the top of the 4th, as Boyer and Kotkamp both singled, McGough doubled, and Still and Matt Snow both singled, before their at bats ended. Scott Kotkamp then took his first turn on the Major League mound, as Robinson reached by E5, Williamson singled, Infantino put the ball in play for a 5-4 FC, scoring Robinson. For Hagan, Atkinson, Robinson, and Infantino all reached twice, and McCarthy, McCusker, and Williamson got on board once.
