Majors: 5/12/03 Baker 4, Peterson 0 Baker Printing faced off against home team Peterson and Peterson in a well-played close contest. The pitching match-ups were Eric Papamarcos for the Baker boys versus Jamie Goldsmith for Peterson. Baker's Jeremiah Green led off the game with a single and after advancing on an Eric Papamarcos fielder's choice, Anthony Ricco plated him with an RBI single. Nick Vendetta then got on board with another FC. After a stolen base, Vendetta scored on a Mike Enterlin single. Baker was up 2-0. That was to be the extent of the scoring until the fifth inning, when Baker got back on the board. Papamarcos, meanwhile, was pitching a gem of a game. In his finest performance of the season thus far, Eric retired the Peterson hitters 1-2-3 in each inning and thus, facing the minimum number. Only three Peterson players reached base, Will Horrocks on an E-3, Brian Mehalick on a walk, and Jamie Goldsmith on a single. Jamie was eventually doubled up off first on a great play by left-fielder Phil Antonello, who grabbed a fly ball and fired to first base for the double play. The Baker boys put two more on the board in the fifth when Ricco doubled deep into the right center gap, stole third and came home on a passed ball. After Vendetta and Enterlin both walked, Ryan Martin delivered a clutch single up the middle to deliver another insurance run. Mike Enterlin was eventually thrown out trying to steal home on a great play by Peterson catcher Brad Wenzel. Pitching was the name of the game in this one as Papamarcos also had 10 strikeouts to his credit with only one walk, allowing just one hit along the way. Final score was Baker 4, Peterson 0.
