The bats finally came alive for the Marlins. The Marlins scored 4 in the first inning and 4 in the
second inning. The Marlins were led offensively by John Owens who went 2 for 2 with an RBI double.
Darren Lucca and Brian Vendetta chipped in with RBI singles.

The Marlins were led defensively by Darren Lucca who started out shaky, giving up 3 runs in the first,
but settled down to give up only 1 run in two more innings and striking out a total of 9 batters.
Brian Vendetta also pitched a strong inning in relief, striking out 3 batters and only giving up 2 runs.

The Reds were led offensively by Tim Divis who went 3 for 3 at the plate. 

Defensively, the Reds were led by Phillip “Dusty” Kotcamp who made an unassisted double play to end
a bases loaded rally in the 4th inning. The Reds also had solid pitching from Kyle Maylish who pitched
a scoreless 3rd inning, striking out 3 batters.
