The Yanks allowed 1 run in the top of the 2nd, but struggled in their next at bat, coming upempty to send the game into the 3rd with the Athletics leading 5-4.Pitching in his first game, Sanjit Singh found his rhythm and struck out 3 batters to retire theAthletics in the top of the 3rd and then his fellow Yankees responded by grabbing 3 runs in thebottom of the inning behind the bats of Jack Donoghue and Tyler Hansen who each hit singles.With the score 7-5 in the Yankees favor at the top of the 4th, Jack Donoghue took the mound andthe Yankees recorded a perfect defensive stop blanking the first 3 batters with 2 ground outs anda fly out.  The Yanks then added an insurance run in the bottom of the 4th.  Neither team wasable to muster any runs in the 5th which left the final score 8-5 Yankees.
