Carman VS. Moppert Brothers 4-18-04 When the long days of winter make us all wonder when will there ever be sun. This past Sunday we had not only sun but also a great baseball game. Carman jumped off to an early lead with 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Moppert Brothers 1st at bat was uneventful with Carman pitcher Kyle Gillen showing good control. The second inning 3 up 3 down with Moppert’s Greg Allison getting his pitches over and good defense in the field. The bottom of the third Moppert’s bats provided the crowd with some excitement as they scored three. The game continued with good defense on both teams’ runs here and there. Top of the sixth inning with the score tied 8-8; Carman’s Jerry Boyer blasted a ball over the left field fence for Carman to take a one run lead. They scored one more and went up 10-8. Moppert’s came up in the bottom of the sixth and started to chip away at Andrew Snow’s strong pitching. Base’s loaded and two outs John Paul Biscotti came to the plate and with one strike on him hit a bomb into deep right center field and scored three runs. Final Score: Moppert Brothers 11 Carman 10.
