NL Game 22
HAP A's 12
Rose Tree Getty Marlins 3
After a rainout the previous day, the HAP A's and Rose Tree Getty Marlins met
for the first time this season on what turned out to be a beautiful day for
baseball.
The A's opened the game with a 4-run rally. The A's collected 5 hits in the
inning, including a 2-run double by Ashton Raines and an RBI double by Greyson
Nelson. In the bottom of the inning, Michael Solomon hit a 2-out double for the
Marlins but was stranded on second.
In the second inning, the Marlins cut the A's lead in half by holding the A's
scoreless and then scoring 2 runs. William Manganiello doubled in the Marlins
first run, and Matt Divis drove in the other with a 2-out single.
The A's got back on the board in the third plating 6 runs. Daniel Enterlin and
Greyson Nelson led the rally each chipping in a 2-run double. In the bottom half
of the third, the Marlins got their final run of the game. Eli Avart opened the
inning with a single. Daniel Enterlin then made an incredible sliding catch to
rob Corey Hansen of a hit. Michael Solomon drove in Avart with another double
before the A's retired the next two Marlins to end the inning.
The 4th and 5th innings were highlighted by strong pitching performances from
both teams. Marlins William Manganiello pitched two innings striking out 6 and
allowing only one base runner. For the A's, pitchers Ashton Raines (3 K) and
Calvin Samson (2 K) each pitched a scoreless inning.
In the 6th inning, the A's scored two final runs. Daniel Enterlin hit his second
double of the game. Calvin Samson and Jeff Gregg contributed RBI singles in the
inning. A's sidearm hurler Sam Naismith pitched the final half inning.
Naismith gave up no runs to give the A's their 5th consecutive win of the
season.
The A's offense was led by Daniel Enterlin (3-3, 2 2B, 3 R, 3 RBI), Ashton
Raines (3-3, 2 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI), and Greyson Nelson (2-2, 2 2B, 3 RBI). For the
Marlins, Michael Solomon (3-3, 2 2B, 1 RBI) and William Manganiello (1-2, 1 2B,
