ML Playoff Game 3
Moppert 6
Baker 0
After an exciting 1st round win over Carman on Tuesday evening Baker Printing was back on the field last night (Wednesday) to face regular season champion Moppert Brothers. Moppert used a classic combination of hitting, pitching and fielding to methodically win this game. While Baker’s Ian Campbell pitched solidly throughout, Moppert was able chip away with 2 in the 1st inning, 3 in the 3rd inning and one more in the 5th inning to win this one.
Moppert’s Brian Bosco pitched very well throughout allowing only 4 players to reach base (3 walks and a base hit by Andrew Karkenney). Brian was provided stellar defensive support from his teammate which made 10 defensive putouts including a beautiful 4 (Ian Mclarney) - 6 (Taylor Longacre) - 3 (Conner McCarren) double play in the 3rd inning.
Baker’s Sean O’Kane had the defensive gem of the game with a diving grab in right field.
Offensively Moppert collected 10 hits including 3-3 performances from Adam Junkin and Taylor Longacre. Also contributing to the hit parade were Brian Bosco and Kyle Longacre with 2 hits a piece.
Both teams are still alive with Baker playing this Saturday against Peterson & Peterson and Moppert awaiting the winner of the Hagen/Campbell.
