Hagen struck for a quick run in the top of the 1st inning on a pair of hits by Julian Heller and Chris Maharaj. Moppert answered back in spades in the bottom of the 1st with 4 runs. Brian Bosco led off with a single, followed by a walk to Conner McCarren and a bunt single by Adam Junkin. Taylor and Kyle Longacre then drove all 3 runners in with a pair of singles. Moppert final 1st inning run came on a bunt single by Omar Randall. After a scoreless 2nd inning Moppert snuck one run across in the 3rd. After holding Hagen scoreless again in the 4th inning Moppert’s bats exploded for 7 runs in the bottom half of the inning. The final blow came in the form of a rocket home run to left field off the bat of Omar Randall.
Offensive stars for Moppert were Omar Randall (2-2), Adam Junkin (2-3) and Kyle Longacre (3-3).
Moppert’s Brian Bosco was rock solid on the mound holding Hagen to 1 run on 3 hits. Moppert now awaits the winner of the Hagen – Baker game for the Major League Championship on Saturday.
