ML Game 35
Moppert 3
Campbell's 2
Tonight Moppert and Campbell's treated
their fans to a good old fashion pitchers duel. With Bobby Van Leer going the
distance for Campbell's and Kevin Bosco (4 innings) and Brian Vendetta (2
innings) sharing the stage for Moppert. Moppert struck first with 2 runs in the
third inning with one out hits coming from Alex Donoghue and Ian McLarney,
followed by an Ian Campbell walk and Brian Vendetta Sac fly. Campbell's close
the lead in the 4th inning when Shane Williams hit a two out solo home run to
left center field. Campbell's then tied the score in the bottom of the 5th
inning on a walk to Bobby Van Leer and back-to-back singles by Eric Poynton and
Joey McLaughlin. In the top of the sixth Moppert fought for a run on walk to
Brian Vendetta and consecutive hits by David Splain and Chris Kambic. Brian
Vendetta then held Campbell's scoreless in their half of the 6th inning to
secure the victory.
There were several nice defensive plays:
Jesse Tull caught a tough line drive to right field off the bat of Kevin
Dougherty.
Kevin Bosco came off the mound stop a ball hit to his right and then wheel and
throw John Fender out at 1st base.
David Splain made made a nice throw to 2nd base to nab the steeling Bobby Van
