The Red Sox had five first inning runs to spark them on. 4 RBIs by Brian Snow helped lead the Red Sox effort. Teddy Silva, Aaron Hoffer, Rob Brown, Nick Young, Matt Mitchell, Christian Ditomo, Ryan Frawley and Peter Muavero were among others who also had hits. Brown had a diving catch on a fly ball at short stop during the game. Good pitching was provided by Young, Mitchell and Snow.

The A’s provided a threat in the 4th inning, scoring four runs. Alex Burman pitched well.
