NL Game 22
Prudential Fox and Roach Braves 12
William Young Carpentry Red Sox 10
The Braves
(Prudential, Fox and Roach) knocked the Red Sox (William Young Carpentry) from
the ranks of the unbeaten with a hard fought 12-10 victory. The Braves got off
to a quick start and were led by Anthony Martinelli with a single, double, and
triple to go along with 5 RBI's. Chris Skahill contributed a tape measure double
and also singled to knock in 3 runs. Jason McClarney broke through with a huge
RBI single and Corey Hansen contributed a big hit as well. Defensively, the
Braves were led by Joseph Kaneda with a circus catch in the outfield and stellar
defense by Brian Dougherty and Spencer Hespenheide. The Red Sox battled back
from a 5 run 5th innning deficit and were led by Brian Snow with a couple of big
hits. They almost completed a miraculous comeback before Jason McClarney came in
with the bases loaded, 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th to secure the save.
Excellent pitching was provided by Anthony Martinelli and Corey Hansen who were
up against a very tough Red Sox lineup. A great all around game by both teams.
Pitching:
Anthony Martinelli 3 innings 52 pitches
Corey Hansen 2&2/3 innings 47 pitches
