AL Playoff Game 4
Quotations 7
Emergency Care 5
The final game in the first round game of the American
League playoffs slated Emergency Care Training against Quotations
Restaurant. Both teams played well and fought hard until the end with
Quotations taking the win over ECT 7-4.
ECT came out of the gate hot scoring 3 runs by Michael Newman, Will
Manganiello and Christian Miller in the top of the 1st inning followed by a
1-2-3 shut down of Quotations in the bottom of the inning. ECT added another
run by Manganiello in the top of the 2nd and then allowed only 1 run to
Quotations from a solid hit double to right by Kevin Murphy in the bottom of
the 2nd that drove in Ben Geiger who had walked.
Kellen Edmondson took the mound in the 3rd and 4th innings for Quotations
facing only 8 batters as the boys in red shut down the ECT bats with
excellent fielding including 2 flyouts to Brian Treston at centerfield.
Meanwhile their mojo returned as they came alive in the bottom of the 3rd
and 4th innings scoring 6 runs to take the lead. Leading that offensive
outburst were Kellen Edmondson (walked, singled and scored twice), Pete
Mamola (single and scored), Nate Engleka (single and scored) P.J. Quinn
(single and scored) and Brain Treston (single and scored). That put
Quotations up 7-4 going into the 5th.
Rowan Baber took the pitcher’s mound in the top of the 5th inning to blank
ECT but then in the bottom of the 5th inning got caught stealing home for
the 3rd out on a close call at home plate which was guarded by catcher Alex
Kron.
ECT managed to score 1 more run in top of the 6th before Nate Engelka came
in to shut the door to yield the final score 7-5. The first out came on an
outstanding play by Pete Mamola playing shortstop firing a bullet to John
Ferruzzi covering home with the bases loaded.
