April 29, 2007 (rain make-up)
AL Game 8
Brooks, Bradley & Kenney 10
William Young Carpentry 7
In a Sunday make-up game between these teams, BBK avenged an earlier loss to
young with a 10-7 victory. Tommy Higgins started the game and threw three
innings of quality ball before turning the mound over to Jack Keffer, making his
pitching return after 2 weeks on pitching DL for early season elbow-itis. Keffer
was up to the task, as he shut down the Young offense over three shut-out
innings. Team BBK was led by the hitting of Michael Solomon (triple, 2 runs),
Sean Doyle (3 hits), and Jack Doyle (2 runs). Team Young threw Jack Ribble, who
was bringing gas for several innings, relieved by Nick Young and Brian Snow.
Snow was almost unstoppable at the plate as he cracked several deep doubles.
Team Young also had fine hitting from lead off batter Jason McLarney. In the
end, it was Keffer’s pitching and Brooks Bradley & Kenney’s overall fine
defense, highlighted by catcher Tommy Higgin’s snap throw to first to pick off
an unsuspecting Young runner, that led BBK to victory.
