A perfect day for baseball and a well played game was witnessed by the fans on hand at the AL field of MLL. It was a tightly contested affair with strong pitching and solid defense by both teams.
The Meenan Oil(ers) began the scoring in the 1st inning with strong back to back singles by Rob Brown, Cal Samson, and Jim Finnegan. After which CMA pitcher Dominic Nunag settled down to pitch 4 strong innings with 7 K's. CMA's Stevie McAlee pitched 2 strong innings helped by some fine defensive plays behind their pitcher. One webgem had Dom Nunag making a diving stop from the SS position with a man on 3rd then getting back to his feet to make a strong throw to 1st.
Meenan Oil received strong pitching from Rob Brown with 4 K's in 1 2/3 innings, followed by Jim Finnegan, Cal Samson, and Stevie Furman.
CMA
finally broke through offensively with 4 runs in the 5th inning with timely
hitting by Dom Nunag, Tyler Taggart, and a clutch single by Matt McNichol to
earn him the team's gameball.
