game in the American League was closely contested. Prudential scored 3
runs quickly in the top of the first, with timely hitting by Sam
Naismith (3-4,3B,3R) and Tyler Lashley(1-3,2B,2RBI).
Burmans answered
back with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st. James Kantner(3-3,3B,1RBI,3R)
and Colin Mcguire(3-4,2RBI,1R) scored on Ben Burman's (3-3, 2B, 3B,
4RBI) triple.
Prudential added 3
runs in the top of the second, and 2 more in the fourth, with hits by
Tommy Bacchia, Sam Naismith and Kevin Murphy.
Burmans chipped
away, scoring 1 run in the second by Corey Hanson. James Kantner tripled
high off the fence in right, and scored in the third inning. Brian
Dougherty and Charles Slackway scored for Burmans in the 4th inning on
Ben Burmans double.
Burmans entered
the bottom of the 6th inning down 8-6. Aaron Hoffer singled, and was
moved along with a beautiful bunt by Brian Dougherty. James Kantner hit
a line drive up the middle, but pitcher Tyler Lashley made a great play
to knock it down. Aaron Hoffer scored on the play leaving Burmans down
8-7. Colin McGuire followed with a single scoring Dougherty and Kantner
for the 9-8 win.
