Game Summary:
With a chill in the
air (all right, it was COLD) Moppert hosted Carman to start the 2007 MLL
Major League baseball season. Carman started things off with 1 run in the
top of the first. Carman then added 3 more runs in the 3rd inning with a
combination of walks followed by timely hits by Kevin Mohollen and Dan
Furman. Mopperts bats finally came alive in the bottom of the 5th inning.
Kevin Dougherty got things going with a leadoff double. Then following a
couple of walks Moppert continued to put the ball in play with key hits
coming from Will Manganiello and Tim Quinn. By the time Moppert finished
their at-bat they had taken a slim 5-4 lead. Carman then came up in the 6th
inning and mounted a charge with a couple of base runners but Kevin Bosco
was able to bear down and pitch through the inning without allowing any runs
to cross and in the process helping Moppert pick up a exciting victory.
