Having battled into a extra inning gut-wrencher a mere 76 hours before,
Campbell’s Boathouse and Carman’s Insurance took the field knowing full well
that another nail-biter could easily be in store. And sure enough, after 3
complete innings the two teams found themselves locked at 5 runs a piece. When
it was all over, the Black Sox Boaters prevailed with a 16-10 victory that gave
them sole possession of 1st place in the Major Leagues on the back of an amazing
5-game winning streak.
Their powerful offense continued to emerge behind Daniel Grandieri (triple,
double and 2 singles, 3 runs), Christian Miller (double and single), John Fender
(2 singles, 4 runs), Eric Poynton (4 walks, 3 runs) Matt Rushton (single, 2 runs
) Brian Treston (single, 2 runs), Rowan Baber (single, 1 run), John Ferruzzi
(single), Lee Miller (walk, 1 run) and Ben Geiger (walk, 1 run). Everyone on
this boat is pulling their oars.
For Carman’s, their offense came from Danny Furman (double, 2 singles, 3 runs),
Tim Aman (2 singles), Alex McLaughlin (2 singles), Kevin Dlugos (single), Kevin
Mohollen (3 walks, 2 runs) and Josh Bannister (2 walks, 2 runs).
Pitching for Campbell’s was Eric Poynton, John Fender and Dan Grandieri. On the
mound for Carman’s was Danny Furman, Kevin Mohollen and Alex McLaughlin.
