In an Opening Day match up the Cubs and A’s faced off after the parade and ceremonies.
For the second game in a row the Cubs defense was able to hold an opponent to five runs. Will Lochetto was again effective on the mound and helped himself with the glove as he threw a runner out at home. Eric Faillace allowed only one hit in two innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win while Mark Teamerson struck out the side to close the game. Eric was also hot with the bat, with a triple, double and three RBI’s. Julian Bonsall-Shepard also doubled in two runs.
For the A’s Richie Hess had two doubles and an RBI, while Chad Cohen knocked in two runs with a single in the second inning. Jake Scott was able to come in and get two strike outs with the bases loaded to end the fourth inning.
