Media, PA (AP) -
Mother Nature, fresh of her latest Earth Day, brought the sunshine and
beautiful weather. But more importantly, it was the Rays who brought
their strongest effort of the season to date as they notched their
second win of the season by defeating the Tigers, 6-0. On the eve of
this win, Ty Kokoska and Sam Elfenbein delivered their first ever
stand-up comedy performance at the Media Elementary Variety Show.
Laughter abounded in front of that packed house on Friday night, but
there was nothing funny about their play on Saturday as they both
slammed key hits (Ty 2, Sam 1) to help pace the offensive.
Additionally, John "Tomahawk" Francis smoked an eye-high pitch to center
for a double, as he continues to lead the Rays in extra base hits.
Defensively,
all the Rays came to play as they flashed their leather early and
often. Oh yes, somewhere in heaven Ricardo Montalban was smiling. Dylan
(always be) Batten was gritty behind the plate and newcomers like Corey
Anderson and Liam Buckley continue to make great strides in the field.
