AL Playoff Game 11
Senior Care 4
Allied 3
Senior Care & Allied played three times during the regular season, but it was the 3rd playoff game for these last two teams in the winner’s bracket that turned out to be an outstanding one.
Senior Care had one of it’s steady aces Michael Castaldi on the mound, while Allied put their number pitcher Max Daugherty in control. At the beginning it didn’t look to be an pitching dual because of the offensive jump by both teams in the 1st inning (4-2 Senior Care). Offensive standouts were Jake Grady with 2 RBI’s, Naz Lennon with 1 RBI, & Jack Kichula with a steal at home. Allied hitters were Devon Laut, Danny DiRita & Max “Soup” Dougherty with RBI’s.
From that point on, the pitching dual began! Max Daugherty pitched a gem with 9 strikeouts for Allied. Michael Castaldi gave Senior Care 6 strikeouts, but only allowing 4 hits with the help of “Big Blue’s” defensive.
The 6th inning became intense with Devon Laut’s key 1 out single for Allied’s comeback. But it was Senior Care’s Jack Kichula coming in to close the game & seal the victory with two huge strike outs to Allied’s top of the order. Senior Care prevailed & was able to chant “one more” at the end of the game, but Allied is still alive & will continue to threaten in the playoffs.
