NL Playoff Game 7
A's (Quinn Construction)
12
Red Sox (Witch Bistro)
10
The A's
overcame an early 8-0 deficit to rally and top the Sox. The game ended
taking 2 days to complete as the skies opened up on the teams not once
but twice on Sunday. It was stopped on Sunday after 2 innings with the
Sox up 8-3. The A's wasted no time coming back on Monday behind a 5 run
3rd inning highlighted by big RBI hits by Zak Summy, Jeffrey Lunger and
Giovanni Antonelli. The Sox came back with 2 runs of their own off a
big Max Brown double and take a 10-8 lead. It stayed that way until the
bottom of the 5th when Evan Fooks had a big RBI double to make it 10-9.
Zak Summy followed with a 2 RBI hit to put the A's back on top.
Giovanni Antonelli knocked in an insurance run to make it 12-10 in favor
of the A's.
The Sox tried to rally in the 6th
after getting a leadoff walk. After a ground out, the A's had to change
pitchers and went to Aidan Carroll. He was helped out by a great
defensive play by Dylan White at 3rd base as he caught a screaming line
drive. After a walk, Carroll settled down and struck out the final Sox
batter to end the game.
Jeffrey Lunger was strong in
relief for the A's only allowing 2 runs in 3+ innings. The Red Sox got
very good pitching from Josh Gordon and Bradley Dinger. Max Brown led
the Sox at the plate with 3 hits.
The A's were led by the hitting of
Nick Martini, Carroll, Fooks, Antonelli and Summy with 3 hits each.
