ML Game 1
Baker Printing 6
Campbell's Boathouse 2
Defending ML champions Baker Printing got off to a great start on opening night.
In the bottom of the 1st, Casey Calloway blasted an opposite field 3 run HR to
give Baker all the runs they would need to capture their 1st victory by a score
of 6-2. Baker had excellent pitching from Kyle Virbitsky and Alex Burman. Kyle
struck out 6 of the 9 batters he faced while allowing only 1 hit by Jacob Grady.
Alex fanned 5 batters over the final 3 innings and limited Campbells to just 2
runs.
Kyle Virbitsky had 2 hits, 2 runs scored and drove in 1 run while Manny Ruffin
drove in another run with a single in the 2nd inning. Justin Ross made his
Little League debut special by getting a single to right field in his 1st
official at bat! He also made the final out of the game tracking down a fly ball
in right field.
Cambells received strong pitching performances from Xandy Hammitt, Andrew
Robinson, and Jimmy Weyler who combined to strike out 11 Baker hitters.
