ML Game 41
Moppert Brothers
6
Baker Printing 5
A terrific, well played game. Moppert took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, keyed
by Aaron's Brown's smash that drove in the second and third runs. In the top of
the third, Baker grinded out three runs to tie as JT Osher drove in one run and
Caleb Mehalik's single to left scored two. Pitching and defense held up into the
bottom of the fifth when Moppert loaded the bases with no outs, but Baker
tightened up and held the home team to just one run. Trailing 5-4 in the top of
the sixth, Kyle Virbitsky drew a one-out walk before Alex Burman hit a home run
that may have landed in Ridley Creek State Park. In the bottom of the sixth,
though, Frederick Potts legged out a bunt single with one out and Shea Morgan
and Ryan Colella worked walks loading the bases. Sam Freedman's liner to left
plated the tying run and Shea Morgan scored the game-winner on a wild pitch.
Starting pitchers Colella and Burman
flinched but didn't fold. Each worked into the fifth inning against potent
lineups. Colella struck out 8 and Burman fanned 7.
