The first game of the season for the MLL American League between Mainstay
Investments and Horizon Services was played on a beautiful, but cool evening. In
a close game through the first four and a half innings with a 3 to 1 score,
Horizon delivered a big fifth inning of 5 runs to win 8 to 1.
Horizon was led by the pitching of Zavier Alvarez-Burock who went 4 1/3 innings,
with seven strikeouts. Pablo Hortua came in on relief and finished the game
getting all five outs with four strike-outs and one caught pop-fly. Horizon also
benefitted from a triple by Alvarez-Burock and hits and heads-up running by Matt
Koskinen, Jon Lennon, Zak Burgess and Will Holefelder.
Josh Gordon pitched four innings for Mainstay gathering 9 strikeouts. Isaac
