Hugo Cabret Reporting
All week the
weather forecast was for rain, however the rains held off so that the
game could be played.
The Diamondbacks came to play bringing their hot bats. Kelton,
Joey, Nick and Jake started the game with 3 singles and a double to open
a 2-run lead. In the bottom of the first inning, it ended when the
Diamondbacks pitcher made an unassisted play at first to keep the 2-0
lead.
For the Brewers, after a cold spell of only 2 runs in the last 20
innings, the Brewers awoke and put up runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th.
For the D'backs:
Kelton, Nick and Josh raised their batting averages
going 2 for 2 each.
For the Brewers:
Quin, Jakob, Nico, Codie, and Rick
had at least 3 or more hits each.
Beepe went
2 for 2
Philip was
the hitting star of the game going 4 for 4 with two monster blasts to
the outfield.
Will got his first hit of the season. GREAT JOB!
Rodrigo got
his first hit of the season. CONGRATS!
Jenny
raised her average with another key hit. WAY TO GO SLUGGER! |

Reporting
The Brewers racked up
four runs on six hits in the second and five runs on eight knocks in the
third en route to an 11-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.
After holding the Brewers scoreless in the top of the first, thanks in
large part to an unassisted putout at first base by Nicholas Corritore,
the Diamondbacks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom half of the
inning when Kelton Brunner, Joey Cornacchia, Corritore and Jake McDowell
hit four consecutive singles. With the bases loaded and nobody out,
McDowell came up with the big blow when he stroked a two-run base hit,
knocking in Brunner and Cornacchia. The D'backs threatened to add to
their lead, but the Brewers escaped without further damage.
Although the Brew Crew opened up a 9-2 advantage in the third, the
Diamondbacks refused to quit. With Brewers at first and second and two
out in the top of the fourth, McDowell cleanly fielded a grounder by the
pitcher's mound and beat the runner to second to get the third out.
The D'backs had two runners on base with one out in each of the fourth
and sixth innings, but couldn't get them home.
The Brewers closed out the scoring with two runs in the fifth.
For the D'backs: Brunner (run
scored), Corritore and
Josh Rodgers each
went 2 for 2, while McDowell (two RBI), Cornacchia (run
scored) and Milan Hortua added a hit apiece. |
