The Nationals came to town to take on the Mariners. The Nationals started off
the game getting two men on base. With 1 out, the Mariners got the lead runner
out at 3rd base to stop the threat. In the top of the 2nd, the Nationals
recorded 3 hits, the last being an RBI single by Bennett Bornstein to take a 1-0
lead. The Mariners rallied back to tie the game at 1-1. Gery Tamburello started
off the inning with a long single to Right Field. Back to back singles by Noah
Griffin and Jeremy Cohen scored Gery.
In the 3rd inning, some great defensive plays by both teams kept the score tied.
In the top of the 4th inning, the Nationals threatened to take the lead with a
single by Jake Stephens and a double by Jeremy Mack. With a clean field by Caden
Paukstis and a force out at 2nd Base, the Mariners held the Nationals 0 runs. In
the bottom of the 4th, the Mariners took the lead with a single by Gery
Tamburello and an RBI double by Jeremy Cohen. The Mariners added another run in
the bottom of the 5th and went into the 6th inning with a 3-1 lead.
In the top of the 6th, the Nationals had two singles by Zach Douglas & Josh
Osher. Andrew Weber had a hard hit up the middle, but the Nationals fielded it
to make an out at 2nd base. On the play, the Nationals scored a run but couldn’t
score another one to tie the game.
The game ended with the Mariners beating the Nationals 3-2.
