ML Game 4
Moppert Brothers 5
Hagan Funeral Home
4
In what is shaping up as the NFL where parity runs ramped, there was another tightly contested game in the majors. Moppert got off to a fast start scoring 3 runs in the 1st, highlighted by a double from Danny Maguire which played a run.
Moppert added 2 more in the 2nd with aggressive base running, this proved to be the difference. Evan Fooks and Jimmy Bauwens each chipped in with a hit for Moppert. Each team shook off the early season defensive rust and got stronger as the game wore on, highlighted by 2 double plays by Moppert. Both teams received good pitching.
Danny Maguire pitched
3 plus solid innings getting out of bases loaded jam with a strike out to hold
the lead. Jimmy Bauwens pitched almost 2 scoreless innings as the set up man,
paving the way for Chris "papelbon" Rosini who preserved the win with is first
official save! Congratulations to Dew Robinson who turned in the pitching
performance of the early season. Drew pitched the final 4 innings facing 14
batters and striking out 10.
