ML Game 19
Baker Printing 3
Carman
Insurance 1
Runs were hard to come by in a close game between Baker and Carman. In fact,
there were 4 outs made at plate (3 by Carman). Brendan Schramm and Ryan Duplicki
helped lead Baker Printing to a 3-1 victory over Carman. Brendan pitched 5 & 1/3
innings allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, 1 unearned run while striking out 7 batters.
Justin Ross had two hits for Baker including a triple to right field in the 4th
inning. Justin then scored the go ahead run on a ground ball by Zak Summy. Ryan
Duplicki blasted a solo home run to right center field in the top of the 1st
inning to give Baker a 1-0 lead. Ryan also picked up the save in the bottom of
the 6th inning retiring the two batters he faced.
Baker made some solid defensive plays in the game including two spectacular
plays by 1B Jeffrey Lunger who fielded two sharply hit balls by John Curran and
had to flip the balls to a hustling Brendan Schramm who had to make the put outs
at 1B. Jake MacDonald did a great job behind the plate in his first action at
catcher this season.
Patrick O'Kane pitched well for Carman giving up just 4 hits and striking out 8
batters. Patrick also collected 2 hits while Justin Heidig had the other hit for
Carman.
