Summary:
The packed house at the MLL Complex was treated to a pitching duel between Devon
Laut and Nathan Furman during this Sunday afternoon contest. Furman efficiently
went the distance but took the loss as Campbell's timely hits and solid defense
were the difference. Brendan Richardi's (3 for 3) triple in the 3rd drove in 2
and put the Boathouse up for good. Campbell's Andrew Sposato (2 runs scored)
capped a flawless weekend in the field with more spectacular plays at 1st base,
as Jake Ringiewicz snag of a towering Furman flyball by the warning track in the
4th ended Carman's attempt at a rally. Max Daugherty had 2 hits and scored 2
runs in the Campbell's victory as Patrick O'Kane led Carman's offense with 2
hits of his own. Laut spread 6 hit's over 5 1/3 innings, keeping Carman's
hitters off balance with array of breaking balls, knucklers and splitters as
Bryan 'Papelbon' Pazulski came on to retire the final 2 Carman hitters, notching
his 1st Major League save.
