ML Game 58
Patriot Construction 3
Hagan's Funeral Home 2
Media, PA - What was probably the fastest six inning game of the year (one
hour), ended in drama. A shorthanded Patriot beat a shorthanded Hagan's on a
walkoff sixth inning home run by Caleb Mahalik. Mahalik also pitched six
innings, striking out six and walking none. Hagan's took the lead in the first
inning and held on until the bottom of the sixth when Mahalik struck. Patriot
added hits by Giavanni Antonelli and A.J. Spallucci. Patriot was also helped by
some great defense by Naz Lennon and call-up Leo Burman who made a rally killing
catch in centerfield in the top of the sixth inning.
Hagan's strong effort was led by the pitching of Michael Castaldi going six
innings, striking out ten, and walking none. Hagan's offense was led by Thomas
Zeigler collecting two hits in the loss. Max Elfenbein played a solid
centerfield throwing out a runner in the second inning and catching a deep fly
ball in the sixth.
