What a difference a day makes! On Thursday night, Ridley pounded our 9/10 year old team by a score of 10-0. Fortunately, it was our 1st loss in the double elimination District 19 Tournament. Our Media boys came back with a vengeance with a decisive 15 - 1 victory that left no doubt who would be the best team to represent District 19 in Section 8 play next week.

Media jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning and held Ridley scoreless thanks a spectacular double play turned by Nate Furman - Owen Evert - Kevin Smith. Media added 3 in the 2nd and 1 in the top of the 3rd to take a 6-0 lead. Ridley generated a run in the bottom of the 3rd which only seemed to ignite the Media lineup to pound out 10 runs in the top of the 4th to build the 15 - 1 lead. Brian Virbitsky held Ridley to just 2 hits over 4 innings on just 38 pitches thanks to great defensive plays by Kevin Smith, Tommy Bradley, Owen Evert, Nate Furman, and Danny McLoughlin at catcher.

Media belted out a total of 17 hits led by 3 hits apiece from Kevin Smith and Max Brown (5 RBI's). Nate Furman, Danny McLoughlin, Leo Burman, Johnny Francis and Andrew Pak had 2 hits each.

The victory gives the Media Little League 9/10 year old team it's 5th District 19 Championship in the past 6 years! The team finished with 5 wins and 1 loss and outscored it's opponents by a 59 to 17 margin.

Media will represent District 19 on Tuesday at 5:45 vs. Horsham LL at the PA Section 8 Tournament held at Horsham Little League.
