A
great game was played on Wednesday night between Pazulski and Mainstay. Mainstay
took the early 2-0 lead behind strong pitching by Josh who struck out the side
to start the game. Pazulski tied the game up with 2 runs in the bottom of the
second inning behind hits from Nick Martini, James Gill and Luke Cavanaugh. Nick
Martini pitched great and held Mainstay to 2 runs from the 2nd through the 4th
inning. Jack played a great game for Mainstay at 2nd base ending a few Pazulski
rallies. Mainstay scored 4 runs in the top of the 5th to take the 7-3 lead but
Pazulski answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th on a double by Andrew Pak
to make it 7-5. Pazulski left the tying runs on 2nd and 3rd heading into the
final inning. Mainstay tacked on an insurance run but Matt Delmar came up huge
and kept the game close.
Then came the bottom of the 6th inning. Nate led off with a rope to left field
followed by James Gill's 3rd hit of the game. Luke Cavanaugh got a one out hit
to load the bases and Christian Williams followed with a key walk to make the
game 8-6. Ty "the Machine" Kokoska took one for the team, getting hit in the
chest, forcing in another run to make the game 8-7. Sean Bettenhausen came to
the plate with the winning run on second base. After running the count to 3-1
Sean took a good cut at a great pitch but missed. Now with a full count and the
bases loaded it came down to one pitch. Sean drove a great pitch to right
centerfield for a walkoff double. Pazulski wins 9-8.
