ML Playoff Game 5
Baker Printing 6
Campbell's Boathouse Restaurant 3
Baker
Printing continued their quest for a 3rd consecutive ML championship with a 6-3
win over Campbell's Boathouse Friday evening. Campbell's took a 1-0 lead in the
top of the 1st thanks to a single by Andrew Sposato and some aggressive base
running. Ryan Duplicki settled in on the mound and struck out the side and kept
the Campbell's team scoreless through the 4th inning. Ryan struck out 8 batters.
The Baker offense was sparked by a leadoff double by Brian Virbitsky in the 1st
inning. Baker capitalized on some fielding miscues to take a 2-1 lead after one
inning. Baker added 3 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 5-1 lead. Campbell's
didn't give up and scored a run off of relief pitcher Brendan Schramm in the 5th
to cut the lead to 5-2. Baker added an insurance run in the 5th thanks to back
to back doubles by Schramm and Justin Ross.
Campbell's again tried to rally in the top of the 6th with a run scored and then
Brendan Ricciardi hit a deep fly ball to left field that Zak Summy made a nice
catch on the warning track to end the game and send Campbell's to the losers
bracket.
Duplicki and Schramm held Campbell's to 6 hits while striking out 10 batters.
Devon Laut held Baker to 8 hits and stuck out 5 batters and issued zero walks.
Justin Ross and Zak Summy both had 2 hits for Baker while Andrew Sposato paced
Cambell's with 2 hits.
