ML Playoff Game 8
Advocare CMA 8
Patriot Construction 7
Advocare and Patriot played one of the most exciting games of the year yesterday
with some late game heroics with two homeruns in the 6th inning proving to be
the difference.
Advocare took a 2-0 lead after the top of the 1st inning after Zach Cimino blasted a 2 run HR to deep center. The lead was short lived however as Patriot scored 4 times in the bottom of the 1st and added 2 more runs in the 2nd inning to take a commanding 6-2 lead after 2 innings.
Advocare added a run in the 3rd and both teams scored once in the
4th inning making the score 7-4 in favor of Patriot. That would remain the score
until the 6th inning as it appeared that Patriot had the game in hand but
Advocare never say die attitude paid off with some fireworks in the 6th inning.
Advocare's first batter of the last frame grounded out to shortstop. CJ Johnson
then rocked a solo HR to leftfield for his 2nd HR of the game. Dan Crossan then
belted a double down the leftfield line but Advocare's next batter popped out.
Down to their last out Jared Brower drew a walk to out 2 men on and 2 outs. Zach
Cimino stepped to the plate and hit a towering 3 run HR to left centerfield for
a 8-7 lead; Advocare's first lead since the top of the 1st inning. Eric
McLaughlin with ice water in his veins came in for the save keeping Patriot off
the board despite having to face the top of Patriot's order.
