It was a beautiful day for baseball. The Pirates and Orioles completing their home and home two game series with a final, mid-day game.
 

First Inning:
The Pirates Sam G. hit a sharp ball to third, that Flynn scooped and threw a laser to Matt at first for a 5-3 putout.
 

The Orioles had several good hits. The Pirates turned two nice fielding out’s to limit the scoring to 3 runs.

 

Second Inning:
The Pirates narrowed the gap to a 3-2 score when Andrew and Nick singled and then Sam D. smacked an outfield single to plate two RBI’s.
 

The Orioles’ Nico started the second with the first of 8 straight singles in their half of the frame to take an 8-2 lead.
 

Third Inning:
The Pirates put a couple for balls into play. Orioles Bennett and Matt made a nifty 1-3 putout.

The Orioles were able to plate 4 runs in the 3rd. The BIG HIT OF THE GAME went to Jenna who hit her first home run of the season. She was followed up 4 batters later with a triple by Quin.

 

Fourth Inning:
The Pirates batters Andrew, Nick, Julie, Sam D and Lucas put together a string of 4 singles and a fielder’s choice to plate another run. 12-3. Codie at SS fielded a grounder cleanly and tagged a run for one of the defensive outs.

The Orioles finished the frame with 7 hits included an outfield single by Flynn to plate 2 runners.
 

Highlights:
For the Pirates Sam G and Sam D put the ball in play with each at bat. Andrew and Nick went 2 for 2.

For the Orioles, Quin 4 for 4 with a triple. Jenna went 3 for 3 with a HR. Jake V. 3 for 3 with a double. Chase, Codie, Will and Flynn went 3 for 3. Matt and Sebastian both went 2 for 3.
