The weather was perfect for baseball.
First Inning:
The Royals took the field first. The Orioles lead off with a strike out followed
by a single, back to back doubles and two singles. With two on and one out, the
Royals’ Matt caught the pop-up as the second baseman. Since the runner on first
took off, Matt raced the runner back to first for a double play.
In the bottom of the first Joe smacked a
double and was the ROYALS BIG HIT OF THE GAME!
Second Inning:
The Orioles second turn to hit started with a single. Then the second batter hit
the ball to the Royals’ Jack who fielded the ball at first for an unassisted
putout at first. The Royals turned a fielder’s choice into the second out. A few
singles followed and then Jenna hit here second double of the game to end the
Orioles top half of the frame.
The Royals turn at bat was slowed by Chase
at shortstop throwing out a runner at first for a 6-3 putout.
Third Inning:
The Orioles lead off the third with Bennett’s ORIOLES BIG HIT OF THE GAME, a
home run. The Royals limited the damage with a the pitcher throwing to first for
a 1-3 putout.
The Royals side of the third started with
a strike out and then a single. The Orioles Quin and Codie turned their third
6-4 putout of the season. The next batter Manny hit a solid shot bound for the
outfield, however, Quin snagged it and ran to second for an unassisted out to
end the inning.
Fourth Inning:
The Orioles lead off with two singles and then the Royals’ Joe got caught a pop
up at third to retire Will. Four batters later the Royals got Jenna out on a
fielder’s choice. At his point the teams cleared the field.
Coach Kane said the Orioles scored 5 runs.
Coach Zilch said the Orioles had 3 runs and only two outs. The Royals returned
to the field. The inning ended when Joe made another spectacular catch at third
base ending the inning.
The Royals ended the game with a ground
out at first base with a U-1 by Quin.
Highlights:
Orioles – Jenna 3 for 3 with 2 doubles,
Sebastian 3 for 3, Codie 2 for 2, Bennett 2 for 3 with a HR.
Royals – Joe 1 for 1 with a double, Jack 1
for 1, Manny and Matt put every at bat in play.
