CL Game 38
Orioles (Rose Tree Fire Company) 9
A's (Sposato Homes) 8
Wow! That was some game!
The Orioles could not muster a big inning at the plate. The A’s showed plenty of
defensive skill. The Orioles defense was stingy, however the A’s mighty bats in
the 4th five run ruled the O’s. The A’s Brendan had 5 put outs in the game and
big catch in the 4th inning.
First Inning
The A’s slugger put 5 balls into play to score the first run of the game. The
O’s counted with a triple by Flynn, then three singles, a sacrifice by Codie for
the second and final run of the inning.
Second Inning
The A’s Ryan’s had a lead-off single. The base running was halted by the O’s
defense as Jenna made a play at second, Brendan’s outfield bound line drive was
snared in the air by Quin at 3rd base for an out and then Jenna got the final
out at 2nd base.
For the O’s, a strike out and the A’s second baseman throwing out the runner at
first started the inning with two outs. Two singles and then an outfield single
plated a run.
Third Inning
Aiden lead off with a single. Hayden then hit a laser shot down the first base
line that Matt snagged in the air. Matt quickly scampered to first to double off
the runner. After two more singles by Ben HR and Brady, Flynn of the O’s got the
final out at third. In the bottom of the frame, the O’s put 6 balls into play,
however the A’s defense got a fielder’s choice out at second. With the bases
loaded, the pitcher to third combo pull off a 1-5 force out to end the inning.
Fourth Inning
The 5-1 lead for the Orioles was short lived the A’s bats showed their power.
Five of the next six A’s reached first and then Aiden’s double closed the frame
with a 5 run fourth to take the lead 6-5.
Flynn’s bat heated up for a second triple of the game. Quin’s single scored him
to tie the game at 6-6.
Fifth Inning
The A’s scored two more in the fifth. Hayden, Ben HR and Brady each singled.
Cooper RBI’ed in a run. Ryan got one more to extend the A’s lead to 8-6.
The O’s fifth only saw 4 batters. The third batter was Matt who hit a home run
to close the margin to 8-7.
Sixth Inning
In the sixth, the A’s did not score, so the O’s had a chance.
Singles by Jakob and Sebastian lead off the inning. Nico hit the ball to third
resulting in a force out by the A’s Aiden. Flynn loaded the bases with a one out
single. Quin stroked a ball to the outfield for a double, plating two runs,
however, the runner from second was ruled that he did not cross the line. The
runners were sent back and with bases loaded, Jakey V (The Brick) delivered a
grounder to the infield to score the game winning run.
The O’s fielders, Tucker and Hayden both had nice putouts in the field.
For the A’s ... Aidan was 4 for 4, Brady and Ryan 3 for 3.
For the O’s … Flynn was 4 for 4, Quin and Jake (The Brick) V. 3 for 4 and Jenna,
Matt, Jakob and Sebastian were 2 for 3.
