Baker
Printing opened up the season with a 16 to 6 come from behind victory over
Carman in a rematch of last years championship game. Carman got off to a quick
start and built a 6-2 lead after one and a half innings. Then Baker fought back
and scored the final 14 runs of the game while the Baker pitchers Owen Evert and
Brian Virbitsky held Carman scoreless for 3 and a third innings.
Baker had a 13 hit attack led by Brian Virbitsky who went 5 for 5 in the leadoff
spot and drove in 3 runs. Jeffrey Lunger chipped in with 3 hits. Owen Evert hit
a 2 run home run in the 4th inning. Zane Walsh smacked a double in his 1st major
league game while Garrett Brunner also had a hit in his major league debut.
Nate Furman led Carman with 3 hits while Bradley Dinger had 2 doubles.
