ML Game 39
Campbell's Boathouse Restaurant 4
Carman Insurance 3
Media,
Pa - In yet another nail-biter, Campbell's Boathouse was able to squeak out yet
another victory against Carman Insurance, sweeping the home and home series.
Campbell's Bryan Paz would get the call to face Carman ace Nathan Furman, and
would go the distance, spreading 6 hits and striking out 5 in the contest. Paz
was helped once again by the solid play of Campbell's defense, which saw key
plays by SS Vince 'Wizard of Oz' Caruso and 3rd baseman Aiden Carroll.
Furman
was brilliant early, fighting back a fever, and listed as 'questionable' right
up until game time. His 'Jordan-like' performance kept the top of the Campbell's
line-up down for most of the contest.
Campbell's Joe Adcock would come through huge for Campbell's, with a clutch hit
in the bottom of the 4th, knocking in a run, that would put Campbell's ahead.
Carman came back in the top of the 5th to tie, and another game in the rivalry
would have to be decided late.
Campbell's Caruso would drive in Paz in the 5th, on a line drive single, as Jack
Higgins continued with a hot bat and added an insurance run with an RBI double
of his own.
Campbell's notched their 12th victory with the Win, and looks ahead to Saturday
morning, where they hope to beat up the pitching machine at MLL's annual Bat A
Thon.
