Moppert Brothers jumped out to a 7 run lead in the bottom of the first with a big HR by Anthony Covello followed by a double by Jack Kirkpatrick. But the Campbell’s boys righted the ship and scored the next 9 runs including his first Major League HR by Tommy Logan to take a 9-7 lead going into the 4th inning. But Moppert fought back with doubles by Tommy Bradley and Covello. Moppert was aided by the American League call ups Joey little and Like Buscaglia who each had hits in the game. Covello came in to pitch and retired 8 of the next 10 batters on K’s.
With the score tied in the last inning Campbell’s finally got to Covello with big hits by Vince Caruso(2 hits) and Sam Holefelder (3 hits) to score 3 runs. But the Moppert team would not quit and 7 consecutive batters reached base with Christian Williams (2 hits) getting the game winning hit for the exciting 13-12 victory.
