On opening night at Media Little League, the Rockies defeated the Orioles 13-3. The Orioles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first after the first three batters, Whitehouse, Gasiba, and Allen all singled. But the Rockies answered in the bottom half of the first with 2 runs. After the Orioles bats were quiet in the top half of the second, the Rockies scored 5 more runs to take a 7-1 lead.

 

The Orioles fought back with 2 more runs in the third inning, but the Rockies scored 4 more in the third and 2 in the 4th to end the game. Evan Whitehouse was 2-2 with a single, double and two runs scored for the Orioles. Gasiba was also 2-2 with a run scored. Josh Allen and Michael Foster also notched singles for the O’s. Dan Lash was 2-2 with a triple and a single and also reached base on a walk. Lash also pitched a scoreless 4th inning for the Rockies.

 

Avi Patel, Jason DiRita, and Jack Gill were all 3-3 with 3 singles and each scored twice.

 

Anders Kristiansen, Quinn Monroe, and Mike Phillips were all 2-2 with two singles as well.

 

Joe Arizin notched a double and scored a run in the third and Matt Sheppard singled and scored in the second inning.
