Playoff Game 7
Mariners (Gregory Hillyard, DMD) 9
Orioles (Court Diner) 8
Both the Mariners and the Orioles came ready to play this evening. The game was
highlighted by strong pitching, solid defense and big bursts of offense on both
sides. For the Orioles, the top of the lineup, Michael Foster, Evan Whitehouse,
Sebastian Perez-Gasiba and Josh Allen gave the Mariners trouble all night,
combining for 6 of the Orioles 8 runs. Defensively, the Orioles played solid all
around.
However, the Mariners lineup produced from top to bottom behind
great pitching from Eddie Morroni, Owen McGroarty and Patrick Lester, who
combined for 8 strikeouts. They were backed up by lights out defense in the
field with Harry Giles making a leaping grab on a liner to third, Owen turning
an unassisted double play and Andrew "Chooch" Ballard giving a solid performance
behind the plate for the entire game.
