In a back and forth game that saw a lot of hits, a lot of great defense, and not a lot of strikeouts, the Rays beat the Rockies 8 – 5 Tuesday night.

The Rockies jumped out to a 2 – 0 lead in the first when Will O'Donnell and Harry Giles scored on a throwing error after reaching base with singles. They held the lead until the bottom of the third when the Rays answered with 3 runs of their own as Connor Martin (single), Jack Bonner (single), and Mike Phillips (2 RBI triple) all scored.

The Rockies reclaimed the lead in the top of the fourth with three more runs as Giles, Grace, and Coccodrilli crossed the plate to make it 5 – 3. But the Rays answered with 4 in the fourth and 1 more in the 5th to cap the scoring.
