Sean Gorman and Avi Patel combined to allow just one hit and no runs on Saturday morning as Coldwell Banker improved to 7-2 by blanking Murtagh Brothers 6-0. Gorman was literally un-hittable, going four innings and allowing zero hits. He struck out 10 and only needed the help of his defense twice. Jack Gill caught a liner off the bat of Anthony Rossi in the second. In the fourth, Luke Averill drew a walk and stole second and third. But when he tried to steal home, Anders Kristiansen pounced on the passed ball and beat Averill to the plate and tug him out to end the inning and help secure the shutout. Patel came on in the 5th and needed just 8 pitches to retire the side. John Coccodrilli hit a scorcher to first base that was too hot to handle and he reached on an error. Charlie Nasta followed with the only hit of the game for Murtagh. But Patel fielded his position well throwing the lead runner out at third on a Brock Reid come-backer. Anthony Rossi also grounded back to Patel who threw him out at first. Patel then struck out Bianca Penn to retire the side in the fifth and Patel needed just 13 pitches to strike out the side in the sixth.

The Coldwell Banker runs came in drips and drabs. Mike Phillips singled and scored on a Jason DiRita RBI single and it was 1-0 Coldwell after one. The Realtors added another in the second frame when Joe Arizin singled and scored on a Matt Halpin hot-shot liner to right to make it 2-0. In the third, Big Blue conjured some two-out magic. Gill (walk), Gorman (single), and Phillips (RBI single) all scored. DiRita notched a 2RBI double in the inning but the inning ended on a runner's interference call when the errant throw from the outfield hit his foot as he tried to take third. Coldwell added their final run in the fourth. Patel walked to start the fourth inning and stole second, third, and home to make it 6-0. And that was more than enough runs for the Gorman-Patel, one-two punch.

Next weekend will be a busy one for the Royal Blue and White as they face Quotations at 6:00 Friday night and SAM Construction Saturday at 2:30.
